The following is a summary of the ongoing investigation and witness interviews. 4 --- PAGE 6 --- Map of Creature Sightings from Approximately Three-Mile Radius around the Ranch A Google Earth map of the ranch and surr, ounding areas was created (approx altitude of map was from 30,000 feet). The locations of each creature sighting together with last known direction of travel were obtained from each eyewitness and then plotted on the map. Then, using an assumption of straight line travel (extrapolation of known direction of movement of creatures), a series of straight lines were drawn on the map. The red circles represent intersection points of these lines. In a sense, these intersection points could be construed as arbitrary, particularly since it is recognized that the creatures may have changed their direction of travel once out of sight of the eyewitnesses. Nevertheless, with the above caveats in mind, it is noteworthy that there are three intersection points of the creatures' putative lines of travel. It can be seen from the figure that all three convergence points are very close to the ranch. One intersection point lies just west of the ranch and the other two lie in the vicinity of Bottle Hollow reservoir. If locations for sustained and continuous night watching to capture sightings/photographs of these creatures were to be nominated, the three locations delineated by the red circles could be top of the list. 5 --- PAGE 7 --- - - - --- PAGE 8 --- Utah Ranch Report Abstract The "Utah Ranch" investigation is an ongoing project which to date has incorporated several deployments of investigators, scientists and engineers. The primary focus of the Utah ranch investigations are: • To comprehensively interview a large number of people who have lived in the area surrounding the Utah Ranch in order to delineate the scope and variety of eyewitness reports in the area. The purpose is to establish commonalities and differences with the ongoing reports of unusual activity on the ranch property itself. • To use portable sensor equipment to measure baseline magnetic field parameters, EM spectrum data, ionizing radiation and chemical elemental analysis of soil on the Utah Ranch property and surrounding areas. It goes without saying a primary purpose is to obtain definitive photographic, digital, sound and chemical evidence of purported anomalies. • To use plants, including transgenic plants, as biosensors of multiple radiation and magnetic field deviations from the norm on the ranch property. These plant experiments have been tailored as user friendly reporting systems for electromagnetic energy detection based on extensive research of the peer reviewed literature. • To initiate a variety of games, puzzles, and other strategies in order to establish communication with the source/origin of reported anomalies on the ranch property. Witnesses have reported unidentified balls of light at close range, daytime sightings of "dog-like" creatures running on two legs, unnatural animalistic howling/screaming, "little people", prehistoric-like birds and a maggot which measured about 8-feet long and 2 to 3-feet in diameter. To date, May 7, 2010, over twenty-five (25) people have been contacted and interviewed in person, predominantly at their homes. This group consists of all life-long residents of the area within a mile or two of the ranch property, four (4) local police officers, eleven (11) Native Americas, including a Shaman, the director of the local Fish and Wildlife office, twelve (12) ranchers, six (6) business owners and approximately fifteen (15) members of the Mormon Church. All of the people interviewed have had 7 --- PAGE 9 --- first hand encounters. Eleven (11) separate individuals witnessed a bipedal "dog-like" creature and/or orbs of light at different times in different locations near the Utah Ranch property. Many of 1he reported observations took place during daytime and nighttime and occurred from twenty years ago to as recent as April 2010. The eyewitness ages ranged from fifteen to seventy-seven years old. The following is a summary of the Utah ranch investigation findings to date 1. Comprehensive multiple witness descriptions of a large "dog" or "wolf' like creature or creatures which have the ability to walk and run at speed on two legs. Multiple witnesses have described in their interviews, when the creature is standing on two legs, the estimated height is six to seven feet. From these interviews, there may be at least three separate types of creatures. Total number of independent witnesses (separately interviewed) eleven. 2. Multiple witness descriptions of small, hairy, three-foot tall "troff' like creatures with long arms which appear to run in a similar way to chimpanzees or orangutan. (Four independent ,eyewitnesses) 3. Multiple witnesses (>2) reports of large "worm" like cr,eatures, a prehistoric "pterodactyl' like creature, "little people" and other anomalies. It should be noted the vast majority of reports detailed in points 1-3 have allegedly occurred within the last five to seven years. 4. Interspersed with the allegations of multiple creature sightings are multiple reports of unidentified flying objects, to include unidentified aircraft and "balls of lighf'. Some of these allegations are recent and some historic recollection. 5. BAASS has obtained photographs of tracks in the snow which remain unidentified. These photographs jdentjfv £~) two sets of tracks merge into one, and (b) ~P P:~.~~~ -where tracks in-the snow on thd...._ _....,Ranch property appear to walk "through" a barbed wire fence. BAASS has also obtained a variety of hair samples from the vicinity of these tracks. These hair samples are currently undergoing scientific DNA analysis. MP Person 4 ••• LJ AASS has conducted comprehensive electromagnetic signature sweeps of the . Ranch property. One set of measurements taken at a point on the mesa at the ranch indicated a strong, yet to be explained, signal which was not detected on previous readings. The report described: "Location 02 recorded two large signals in both the horizontal and vertical positions. These signals were not present the day before when measurements were taken at DO. The first signal was 1210, 1213 and 1216 MHz and 8 --- PAGE 10 --- the second large spike was 1232.5, 1235.5 and 1238.5 MHz. The signals fell in the frequency bands of 1164-1215 and 1215-1240 MHz. This space is allocated for Earth exploration-satellite (active), radio location G56, radio navigation-satellite (space-to- Earth) (space to space) G132, and space research (active) . Provisions G56 and G132 state these frequency spans are primarily for military purposes, but they can be used by other federal agencies in support of science and research" The signals were detectable between 1-2 GHz with both horizontal and vertically polarized antennae. Further measurements and research, particularly into satellite transmitting frequencies and times will be required to identify the origin of these signals. 9 --- PAGE 11 --- Investigative / Scientific Summary 1843(a) I 1(2) Family Thel 1843(a)(2) Iwere re-interviewed for the purpose of collecting a more complete set of data on their encounters with both the red ball of Ii ht and the creatures. 1843(a).(?L . l lson,l 1843{a)(2)I and his 18-year-old girlfriend 1843(a)(2) were previously identified as witnesses to the anomalous activity and were also present and able to be 1843{a)(2) _ Jnter:viewed,--l --··I is a 23-year-old half Native American, half Hispanic man who I currently resides in Phoenix, AZ.l 1843(a)(2) is an 18-year-old black female who resides I with her mother in th~1843(a)(2) housing development in Fort Duchesne, UT. 1843(a)(2) I 1843(a)(2) 1.....- - - - - - and....__ _..... 1843 ~ said he frequently stays with his mother (a)(2) and stepfatherVfl43 as someone we should talk to because he 6mm-s-ro have witnessed several strange things in the area.I ---- l w.ould1843(a)(2) 1843 2 not elaborate on_~h_§lt_st,~_ had..hearc::1-fFefT'lEJ and said investigators would have to call (a).( ) and speak· to him directly. These plants will serve as biosensors for the presence of various types of radiation and/or chemicals/materials which can damage DNA. Three of each plant was placed in two different locations (living room and Bedroom) under grow lights which were set to cycle through sixteen hours of light and eight hours of dark daily. Biologist~P Person 29 jutilized the April trip to check on the health of the plants. At the time othe April deployment, the plants had only been at I ~P P:.~.~?.r:i,. j.. --· Ranch for two weeks, no observations or analysis can be drawn concerning mutation levels in either tobacco or spiderwort. • Tobacco heterozygous for the sulfur mutation (Su/+): This assay is based on a naturally occurring mutation at the Sulfur (Su) gene. Plants heterozygous for the gene, Su/+ are pale green. Mutations that inactivate only the Su allele are visualized as dark green spots while mutations of the wild type allele result in an albino spot (yellow/white). Below is an example of the type of result that would be expected upon exposure to a mutagenic agent. Figure 9 - Su/+ tobacco plants exhibiting mutations in both alleles Heterozygous plants are required for the bioassay. Initially the plants will be grown inside the trailer and assayed for color spot changes. Once weather conditions at the 29 --- PAGE 31 --- ranch allow, plants can be moved to outside locations, either in pots or perhaps planted directly in the ground.IMP Person 29 !inspected all Tobacco leaves for the presence of dark green spots; none are present at this time. • Spiderwort: This assay consists of microscopic observation of stamen hairs for alterations in hair cell coloration from blue to pink. This indicates a mutation inactivating the dominant blue color allele allowing expression of the recessive pink color allele. Additionally, pink spots can also be assayed in the flower petals. This assay requires microscopic observation, and will be done on future scientific deployments. A close up of a spiderwort flower is included below showing the appearance of the stamen hairs, which will need to be examined under a microscope. Fig ure 10. Close up picture of spiderwort stamens and stamen hairs The plants require sixteen hours of light per day to promote flower development. Since the assay involves microscopic examination of the flower, the examination of stamen hairs and petals will be done by the scientific staff durin future routine deployments. During the April deployment, Biologist AAP Person 29 assessed the health of the plants and insured the light cycles are running on sixteen hours of light per day. The April deployment was too soon to perform microscopic analysis. 30 --- PAGE 32 --- Seed Experiment A seed germination and growth experiment was set up at both BAASS and l~P Person Ranch on April 22, 2010. One location is the trailer living room while the second is the trailer 4 •••••• bedroom. Plants will be grown to determine if differences exist in germination rate and/or growth rate between the three locations. Two types of seeds will be grown in each location; Stokes Sugar Snap Peas and Stokes Green Beans. Both seed types are treated with fungicide to control contamination by fungus. The following steps were taken when planning and setting up the seed experiments to ensure consistent environmental factors are accounted for: • All locations will be watered with distilled water. • Specialized containers known as "cone-tainers" are being utilized. Cone- tainers are elongated pots are arranged in a rack for optimal use of space which can be reused many times. This approach will allow the plants to grow for longer periods of time in order to assess plant growth. Two seed types were planted on each tray allowing for forty-nine of each seed type to be grown. Figure 11 - Example of Cone-tainers and associated racks • The cone-tainers were placed under Jump Start TS Grow light systems. This was to control the light cycles at each location. Timers were set on the light systems to provide sixteen hours of light and eight hours of dark. 31 --- PAGE 33 --- • To control for extraneous light, large enclosures were placed over the grow light systems. The amount of light will therefore be consistent. Pictures will be taken and germination charts will be filled out twice daily for all locations. Once germination data collection has been completed, germination charts will be produced. When the experiment has been completed, plants from ~ P Person Ranch will be brought back to BAASS for analysis. All plants will be measure an weighed. 32 --- PAGE 34 --- Appendix Game Camera identification and GPS coordinates for respective cameras 1843(a)(3) BAASS 0001 BAASS 0002 BAASS 0003* BAASS 0004* BAASS 0005* BAASS 0006 BAASS 0007 BAASS 0008* BAASS 0009* * Cameras no longer in service 33 --- PAGE 35 --- Figure 12 - Celestron LCD Digital Microscope Model #44340 (magnification 10x objective lens) digital image indicates the presence of a hair follicle located on a strand which can be analyzed for nuclear DNA for species identification. 34 --- PAGE 36 --- Figure 13 - Celestron LCD Digital Microscope Model #44340 (magnification 40x objective lens) dlgital image Indicates the presence of a hair follicle located on a sample strand which can be analyzed for nuclear DNA for species identification. 35 --- PAGE 37 --- 1843(a )(2) I' 843(a)(2) 11843(a)(2) I April 27, 2010 MAY O 3 2010 BY: IAAP Person 7 Items Received On April 2, 2010, thd 1843(a)(2) I received four hair samples submitted by you for the puroose of mitochondrial senuencing.
